The Secret Life Of Bees (12A)

Plucky teenager Lily Owens is one of the few people in town to take people as they come, happily treating her nursemaid Rosaleen as her equal. When the servant endures a beating at the hands of local bigots and is consigned to a hospital bed with bruises and broken bones, Lily vows to spirit her friend away to a safer place, leaving behind her bullying, hard-drinking father T Ray. Rosaleen and her diminutive companion seek refuge in a neighbouring community, finding lodgings with the Boatwright sisters - August, May and June (Alicia Keys) - who produce some of the state's finest honey.
