Laurel Canyon (18)

Newly qualified doctor Sam wins a residency at a Los Angeles hospital, and moves to the city with his fiancee Alex. Without a roof over their heads, the couple agree to stay with Sam's music producer mother Jane, just until they can find an apartment of their own. Sam settles into his new job with ease. Meanwhile, Alex, who should be finishing her masters thesis, keeps being distracted by the antics of Jane and her toy boy lover, Ian, the lead singer of a band destined for great things.
