Jason Momoa flexes his muscles as the titular DC Comics superhero in this standalone feature, which fleshes out the eponymous king of the underwater realm from his brief appearances in the blockbusters Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice and Justice League. Atlanna (Nicole Kidman), Queen of Atlantis, falls in love with lighthouse keeper Thomas Curry (Temuera Morrison) and gives birth to a boy called Arthur. She leaves the child behind to return to the deep, while Thomas raises Arthur (now played by Momoa) to respect both land and sea. He grows up blessed with special powers such as the ability to communicate with all forms of aquatic life. In Arthur's absence as rightful heir to the throne of Atlantis, half-brother Orm (Patrick Wilson) seizes power and declares war on humans for polluting the seas and oceans. Mera (Amber Heard), daughter of King Nereus (Dolph Lundgren), visits Arthur and implores him to take his rightful place under the waves, flanked by mentor Nuidis Vulko (Willem Dafoe). However, Orm has an army commanded by Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Manteen II) at his disposal and he will not give up the Trident of Neptune to his long-lost half-brother without a titanic battle.Running Time: 143 minutes
