This spectacular wetland site covers an area of 450 hectares following the River Idle northwards. The size of 600 football pitches, it is one of the largest sites for nature conservation in the East Midlands.

Parking is available at the Rural Learning Centre (SK686832) at the following times:
Monday â€" Friday: 9am -5pm All year
Saturday and Sunday: 9am - 5pm (October to April), 8am-8pm (May â€" August)

Alternative parking is available in the lay-by on the road by the Bluebell Inn in Lound, or in Chainbridge Lane.
Children
There are four designated walks of varying lengths (click ‘Factsheets’ to download reserve map), so whether you would like a quick stroll or a longer hike, there’s something to suit everyone. There is a bronze rubbing trail around the site for children and various sculptures to enjoy, designed and built by local community groups.

Visitors to Idle Valley are invited to enjoy the many footpaths and bridleways, of which 2500m are wheelchair-accessible, together with five viewing screens and a viewing platform.

Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome, restrictions may apply to certain events.
