Arterie
Arterie is a contemporary art gallery, specialising in original works of art including paintings, ceramics, sculptures and one off prints. With 5 galleries over 2 floors in an elegant Georgain Town House, we offer a relaxed and informal environment for people to come and fall in love with original art.
We hold the retrospective (and current) collection of the iconic painter Edward Bell. A former Vogue photographer and graduate of the Royal College of Art, he was pursued for commissions by pop stars,
socialites, magazines and books. His portraits included Elton John, Pierre Cardin and Kim Wilde although he is probably best-known for David Bowie's Scary Monsters record cover. A film was made about him by Marcus Thompson entitled, 'Edward' and presented at the LA Film Festival.
His current work explores the glamour and beauty of the stunning landscapes and interiors of his homes in Shropshire and Sligo (West Ireland).
Other artists on permeanent exhibition include:
Still life painter, Diana Bridger. Abstract artist Tessa Waite. Bronze animalateur, Rachel Ricketts and potter and painter, Gordon Crosby.
The gallery also has a selection of high quality wooden toys and a range of original works aiming to appeal to children.
We really want people of all ages to be able to enjoy and have access to contemporary art. We have launched an affordable art area with prices from £75.00 - £150.00.
We are interested in all types of use for the galleries which are open to the public.
