The Bakery brings a modern and unique slice of café culture to Southport. With it’s Real Bread Campaign certified sourdoughs and loaves, freshly made artisan sandwiches, pies and salads, cakes and tray bakes it is the perfect place to meet friends and colleagues or bring the family for a bite to eat. Wherever possible we use seasonal produce from local growers, brewers and makers, which means there is always something new to try on the menu.

The Bakery serves a range of beverages and sweet treats. Daily specials are also available.

Visiting the library? There’s nothing better than a hot drink, a cake and a good book! Remember to get your order to take-out and bring it into the library to enjoy while you read.

The Bakery is open 10.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Saturday and Sundays 11.00am to 3.00pm.

As well as the Bakery we have two bars, each that service the performance venues. The Studio and Theatre bar are open 30 minutes before the start of the show and 30 minutes after, depending on the demand. A wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are available as well as light snacks such as crisps, nuts and treats for you while you are watching the show!
For real ale fans we have a treat in store, as you will be able to pick up a wide range of bottled ales to enjoy with your meal, or just to enjoy because you can!

The Atkinson does not have its own car park but due to being located in the heart of Lord Street, there is pay and display street parking that disabled drivers can use (please remember to show your blue badge). For full information on the parking zones available please visit the Sefton Council website
There is one blue badge parking space on Market Street, next to the old Carlton Hotel and on the corner of the Vincent Hotel (approx 5 minutes from The Atkinson). There are also two spaces on Eastbank Street (facing Superdrug)(approx 6 minutes from The Atkinson) .

All ages are welcome in The Atkinson.

The main entrance is flat, there are automatic doors and there are lifts to all floors.
There are accessible toilets available on all floors and the first floor accessible toilet has full adult changing facilities. This will soon be a registered Changing Places toilet.
An induction loop is set up on our Visitor Services counter and full infra red emitters in all our performance spaces
There is a portable induction loop available for any space in the venue
Tables and chairs in the café are free standing. Large print menus will be available on request.
Assistance dogs are welcome.
