Weald & Downland Living Museum
Situated in a beautiful downland setting, this museum displays more than 40 rescued historic buildings from south-east England. The buildings range from medieval houses to a 19th century schoolhouse and Victorian labourers' cottages. There is a medieval farmstead complete with animals, seven period gardens, a lakeside cafe, picnic areas, a working watermill, rural crafts, trade demonstrations and a working Tudor kitchen in an original Tudor service building. The first major timber gridshell building in Britain houses a timber framing workshop and the museum's rural life collection.
