Landguard Fort
Overlooking the Orwell Estuary, this is an 18th century fort with major 19th century alterations and 20th century additions. Considerable renovations should be completed in 2002. There is a museum featuring displays of local history. Please check opening times.

Guide Dogs Allowed
The site of the last opposed invasion of England in 1667 and the first land battle of the Royal Marines. The current fort was built in the 18th century, and modified in the 19th century with substantial additional 19th/20th-century outside batteries.
