Chatsworth is a major stately home with open facilities to the public. These consist of the Art Collection and Artifacts, the Garden, the Restaurant, the Farmyard and Adventure Playground.

The Carriage House Restaurant serves visitors during the season and provides seating for 250 people. The menu ranges from snacks to full meals, and is variable. Vegetarian dishes are available. Ample parking is available at a charge of £1.

Children are most welcome. The Farmyard and Adventure Playground are specifically designed for their enjoyment. Facilities are available for private hire for children's parties.

The Garden, Farmyard, Shops and Restaurant are all fully accessible for wheelchair users. Suitable lavatories are available.
There are 3 electric scooters and 4 manual wheelchairs available for use in the garden at no charge. A leaflet, showing routes around the garden accessible to scooters and wheelchairs, is available at Chatsworth.
The structure of the house imposes limitations on access because there are 160 steps on the public route.
Access to the Sculpture Gallery, Great Dining Room, Ante-Library and a view into the Library and Painted Hall, is usually possible at our quieter times, which tend to be weekdays, avoiding school holidays.

Pets are welcome in the Park. Animals should be kept on leads at all times, as the Park is also shared with deer, sheep and cattle.
