It is advisable to do some research into the broker that you are considering using as it may save you money in the long term. You should ask them about their background of lenders that they use, how many mortgages they arranged last year, how long they have been advising, ask their professional qualifications,how much they charge and why should you arrange your mortgage through them.

It is best to see a few before making a final decision. If they are not willing to spend time with you discussing this then they are not worth considering.

On looking at different mortgages on the market it is an important consideration to check what the interest rate is on paying back the money. Interest rates fluctuate alongside the banks base rate. A general rule to follow is that if the economic conditions are good then the interest rates should be low.
