Promoting Sheffield bands on the Internet

Sheffield has a vibrant music scene with a huge number of bands. Whilst the better known bands do enjoy a presence on the web, many of the smaller bands are struggling for recognition. We have been asked how small bands could promote themselves and get extra publicity on the web. Sheffield City Net, in association with other organisations is trying to help both new and established bands to get on-line in a number of ways.

Promotion of gigs and events
Our free events calendar can be used to publicise gigs and music related events. You can enter your event details on the site by filling in a form.

Links to band web sites
If your band has a web site then you can link to it freely from the directory in the recreation section.

Free simple entry for the band
If you can’t afford a web site we can create a simple page for your band.

Reviews, articles and interviews
We will be adding articles and interviews about local bands, information should be submitted to editor@sheffieldcity.net.

Distribution of music and video
Bands could promote their latest songs through our web site. Songs could be made available to users as MP3, real audio and real video.
