Interview TechniquesTYPES OF INTERVIEWIt is important to be prepared for the different types of interview you might have. It could be a panel interview with several interviewers, which can be very intimidating if you are not prepared for the possibility.
Single Interviews - the most common, 1 to 1 with the candidate, an open exchange of information, but does rely on personal chemistry.
Panel Interviews - often used in public sector or education, as they allow different people to assess the candidate and are perceived as fairer. However, they can be more stressful and intimidating for the candidate. There is normally the Head of the company, the immediate manager who you would work most closely with, and someone else with relevant knowledge.
Sequential Interviews - a series of interviews with different people on 1 day.
Telephone - some employers prefer this, as it is cheaper and saves time. It can be harder to establish a chatty rapport on the phone, but then you can refer to notes and have your CV and papers in front of you without anyone knowing. These interviews are normally shorter, so you can project your image for less time!
