Millie Dillmount is determined to bob her hair, dance to jazz, get a job and marry her boss - all in the modern fashion.Thoroughly Modern Millie transports audiences to a Manhattan at the height of the Jazz Age. Millie travels from Kansas in search of a new life and a wealthy husband. As she checks in to the Hotel Priscilla she encounters eccentric proprietor Mrs Meers and her riotous adventures in New York City begin. She has a plan - to get a good job as a secretary to a very rich man, and then marry him. Millie Dillmount is determined to bob her hair, dance to jazz, get a job and marry her boss - all in the modern fashion. Of course nothing quite goes according to plan - the owner of her dingy hotel kidnaps young girls to sell to the Far East, her very rich boss is slow in proposing marriage, and the guy she actually falls in love with is as poor as a church mouse.
Based on the 1967 Oscar winning film this musical has been playing to packed houses since it opened on Broadway in April 2002. Great show stopping numbers and fabulous dance routines, together with hilarious kidnap sequences makes Thoroughly Modern Millie a great night out at the theatre. Millie is suitable for all ages. Songs include 'Forget About The Boy', 'What Do I Need with Love?' and the title song.
