Anything Goes - Show Information

A delightful tale of mistaken identity and high farce with many unforgettable toe-tapping songs.

The musical is set aboard the cruise liner SS America. Among the passengers heading for England are Reno Sweeney, a sometime celebrity evangelist turned night-club entertainer and Lord Oakleigh, a wealthy English aristocrat, accompanied by his debutante fiancée, Hope, her protective mother and Will Street Millionaire, Eli Whitney. Also on board are the stowaway Billy Crocker, desperately pursuing Hope, and Moonface Martin, Public Enemy Number Thirteen, desperately seeking the kind of notoriety enjoyed by Snake Eyes Johnson, whom the FBI believe to be making the trip in disguise.

Although the plot sets up many moments of high farce, it is for its musical score that Anything Goes stands out. The show is peppered with classic tracks such as: I Get A Kick Out Of You, It’s De-Lovely, All Through The Night and the title number Anything Goes.
