Philharmonia Orchestra

An evening featuring the most recognisable tunes in the classical repertoire; luxurious tunes abound in both Elgar's expansive ode to Italy 'In the South' and his musical portraits of his closest friends in the 'Enigma Variations'. Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto was one of the first concertos for the instrument in the Romantic period yet it remains at the forefront of the violin repertoire today, ubiquitous in any violinist's discography.
