Don PasqualeDon Pasquale, a rich bachelor, is trying to persuade his hephew (Ernesto) to marry a rich woman, whom he has found for him. But Ernesto has other ideas, having fallen in love with a penniles widow. So Don Pasquale threatens to marry himself and thus deprive his nephew of his inheritence and he sets his advisor, Malatesta, to find him a bride. First performed in 1843.
