Orchestra of the Age of EnlightenmentThe OAE is much more than one of the world's pre-eminent period instrument ensembles. It works regularly with conductors who specialise in both early music and the modern repertoire, and has explored the work of composers from Bach to Mahler, Handel to Borodin. This pair of concerts enable you to experience the complete L'estro armonico, one of Vivaldi's most significant achievements. The title means 'Harmonic inspiration' which goes some way to expressing what a thrilling collection of music this is. Thrilling, and also impressive, for this music makes huge demand on its performers, and the thrilling virtuosity of the music makes for an exciting evening of music-making. Queen Elizabeth Hall
