Buying tickets for the first night

First nights, or opening nights, are reserved for special people from friends of the cast to reviewers. Tickets for these shows are not sold in advance to the public, but on the day inevitably there are vacancies and some tickets are sold to the public to fill up the empty seats. You should be able to buy tickets a day or two before the opening night, from the theatre box office, after the producers have decided on their own requirements.

Opening night performances usually start earlier than normal, around 7.00pm so you need to be early. Also remember that Dress code for opening night can be more formal so jeans and a T-shirt are not a good choice. Don't go overboard either, a good suit or smart dress will be fine.
