Apart from the last couple of miles the journey from London, Manchester, Birmingham, or Swansea can be achieved without having to leave either motorway or dual-carriageway. From London: Take the M4 to Newport. At Junction 24, take the A449 and then the A40 to Abergavenny. (approximately two-and-a-half hours).From Manchester: Take the M6 south to Junction 10a and join the M5 at Birmingham. Follow the directions from Birmingham (below).(Approximately three hours).From Birmingham: Take the M5 south to Junction 8, join the M50 to Ross-on-Wye and then take the A40 to Abergavenny via Monmouth.(Approximately two-and-a-half hours).From West Wales: take the M4 to junction 26 and join the A4042 to Abergavenny
