By car from the South: - Take junction 36 off the M6 and follow the A591 through Windermere. - Turn right at the mini-roundabout (signposted Kirkstone Pass). - After 2.5 miles turn left for Troutbeck sign, then right at the T-junction at the top of the hill. The Mortal Man is 800 yards further on the right. From the North (in good weather): - Exit the M6 at junction 40 of the M6 and take the A66 west for Keswick. - Turn left after one mile onto the A592. - Follow this road alongside Ullswater and over Kirkstone Pass. - At the base of the valley turn right, signed The Mortal Man. The hotel is situated 400 yards further on the left.
