Journey time from London by train is c. 1 hour 20 minutes.BY ROADFrom LondonJoin the M2 (signposted towards Dover, Channel Tunnel, Canterbury and Chatham). Leave M2 at junction 7 onto the A2 and follow signs for Canterbury. Leave the A2 onto the A2050 (following signs for Canterbury). Follow signs for A290 to Margate along the ring road around Canterbury. This takes you over 4 roundabouts.Just after the 4th roundabout (St Georges) turn left into Burgate. The car park for Canterbury Cathedral is on the right hand side, down the narrow road next to the British Red Cross shop through the Postern Gate. If you arrive after 6pm, you will need to enter via the Christchurch Gate next to Starbucks in the Buttermarket. From DoverLeave Dover docks and follow signs to the A2 (signposted Canterbury). Take the turning off the A2 for the A28 (signposted Canterbury). At Wincheap roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Pin Hill - A28 (signposted Margate). At Riding Gate roundabout continue to follow signs for A28 (Margate) and take the 2nd exit onto Upper Bridge Street). At St Georges roundabout take the 1st exit onto Lower Bridge Street - A28 (signposted Margate, Ramsgate). From AshfordFrom Ashford International Station follow signs for A28 (signposted Canterbury). This road is c. 14 miles long and will take you over the M20 motorway, through the villages of Bilting, Godmersham, Chartham and finally Thanington.
