Austons DownMap & DirectionsMap Loading Austons Down is situated about 7 minutes from Junction 15 of the M40. The B4463 , the most direct route, will be closed from January 2009 until mid 2010. Leave Jct 15 on the A46 towards Stratford and follow the A46 westwards. Continue on the A46 (half right) at the roundabout with the A439 at the end of the sual carriageway. Just over 1.5 miles from this roundabout there is a turning on the right hand side of the road to Snitterfield. Take this turning and drive into Snitterfield. After half a mile there is a War Memorial on the left and a right turn down into Snitterfield village. Take this turn and pass the village shop on the left hand side. Take the second right signposted to Wolverton and Claverdon Follow this road through Wolverton and across a crossroads, "Wolverton crossroads". There is a white cottage on the left hand side of the cross roads. Continue straight ahead, signposted Claverdon, into Saddlebow Lane and Austons Down is on the right hand side of the lane about half a mile from the cross roads. If you reach the A4189 Henley in Arden to Warwick road you have missed the house. Turn around and we are 750 metres on the left hand siide going back to Wolverton.. An in-car GPS using CV35 8PQ post code will deliver you to the junction of Saddlebow Lane and A4189. Turn down Saddlebow Lane towards Wolverton for 750m and Austons Down is on the left hand side of the road. If you approach from Henley in Arden on the A4189 drive through Claverdon, Pass the Red Lion pub and the railway station. Saddlebow lane is about 400 metres on the right hand side, signposted to Wolvertonand Snitterfield. If you approach from Warwick on the A4189 and you see the Red Lion pub or cross the railway bridge you have gone too far. Turn around in the Red Lion car park and go back towards Warwick. Saddlebow Lane is the first turn (400m) after the railway bridge on right hand side. |
