First constructed around AD160, it is semicircular in shape, 180ft across and could hold over 2000 spectators. Distance: 1.75 Miles The Gardens of The Rose (Royal National Rose The gardens of the Royal National Rose Society, which include the International Trial Ground for new roses. The gardens contain over 30,000 plants in 1,650 different varieties. These include old-fashioned roses, modern roses and the roses of the future.
