Fitzwilliam Museum
The Fitzwilliam Museum is the art museum of the University of Cambridge and one of the oldest public museums in Britain. Exhibits include ancient art and sculpture, furniture and rugs as well as masterpieces by painters including Picasso, Monet and Constable. The fitzwilliam Museum has recently undergone a £12 million courtyard development, creating a new public space spread over four floors and featuring temporary exhibitions, medieval and renaissance art and 20th and 21st century art. The development saw the museum shortlisted for the 2005 Gulbenkian Prize for museum of the year
