Lodge at Lamont, The | A two-bedroomed traditionally built log cabin situated on a quiet site of 18 lodges within the Argyll Forest Park. Sleeps max. 4 persons in one double room and one twin room. There is also a kitchen, lounge/diner and bathroom, and a sheltered veranda. Ideal for romantic, weekend or family breaks, for walking in the beautiful wooded area around the cabin. Close the the famous Benmore botanical gardens and 'James Duncan Cafe'. Coastal walks, local pubs and restaurants. Ideal base for walking, cycling, relaxing, putting your feet up. |  | From Glasgow either take the A82 road towards Campbeltown and 6 miles beyond Arrochar (over the 'Rest & Be Thankful' pass) take the A815 signed Dunoon. The lodge is situated on the left a mile beyond the entrance to the Benmore Botanical Gardens. Alternatively take the M8/A8 from Glasgow west to Greenock and continue a further 6 miles along the A8 through Gourock to the 'Western Ferries' terminal. After a 20 minutes ferry journey turn right and follow the coat for 3 miles to Sandbank. Turn right again and follow the A815 road north for 3 miles. The lodge is located within 'Lamont Lodges' on the right about 1 mile beyond the Cothouse Hotel and Service Station. |
