Lord Nelson Inn, The | A warm friendly welcome awaits at The Lord Nelson Inn; a 200 year old village inn, situated in the Nottinghamshire village of Besthorpe, close to Newark-on-Trent and Lincoln. In our two bars you can enjoy a home-cooked meal with fine wine in front of a real fire, have a chat with the locals over a pint of real ale (popular guest ales include The Reverend James and Roaring Meg), join in the quiz on a thursday night, or have a game of pool or darts in the Tap Room. Due to our location between Newark and Lincoln, we are very conveniently situated for both the Newark and Lincoln showgrounds, and also the antique fairs at Swinderby. All of our pub is NON SMOKING, however there is a covered and heated smoking area outside. |  | Travelling from the South (Newark): Follow signs for the A46 to Lincoln. At the roundabout after the Mint Leaf restaurant and petrol station turn left on the A1133 signposted Gainsborough and Collingham. Pass through the villages of Langford and Collingham. Besthorpe is approximately 2 miles past Collingham. We are located on the left hand side of the main road. Travelling from the North (A1): At the Markham Moor roundabout take the exit for the A57 to Lincoln. Continue along this road until after you have crossed the toll bridge at Dunham (have 25p ready for car drivers). About a mile after the bridge take the first right signposted to Newark and Collingham (A1133). After approx 4 miles you will reach the village of Besthorpe. We are located on the right-hand side of the main road. |
