Queen Hotel, The | Built in 1872 as a Victorian railway hotel, The Queen Hotel retains many original features, now sympathetically modernised to meet the needs of today's business and leisure visitors. 14 Charming, individual bedrooms are available with private shower rooms, colour television, radio alarm and tea and coffee making facilities. A selection of alcoholic drinks is available to residents. Single, twin and double bedrooms - some on the ground floor. A private car park is available free of charge. Cooked to order full English breakfast is served in our lovely Victorian dining room. The Queen Hotel is situated in the vibrant Georgian market town of Olney. A wide choice of 14 restaurants and pubs are within 5 minutes walking distance. Historic Olney is famous for it's pancake race and there is a wide variety of shops and boutiques selliing gifts, antiques, local produce and clothes. There is also the Newton and Cowper Museum in town and a farmers market on the first Sunday of each month. Events are run throughout the year. Well worth a visit either for business - as Olney is convenient for Milton Keynes, Bedford, Northampton and Wellingborough, or for a weekend break away from it all, especially suitable for those who do not like too remote a location. | | |  |  |

|  | By train from London, Euston to Milton Keynes - 45 minutes and from London, Kings Cross St Pancras - 45 minutes to Bedford. Both Milton Keynes and Bedford railway stations are (approx) 20 minutes drive from Olney. By Road leave Junction 14 of the M1 motorway - follow signs to Newport Pagnell. Just before Newport Pagnell take the A509 signposted to Wellingborough and Olney. The A509 continues through The High Street in Olney. Continue past the church and the market square, the Two Brewers pub (on the right) and The Castle (on the left). The Queen Hotel is situated about 300 yards further up on the right hand side. Luton Airport is 35 minutes drive South on the MI motorway. |
