Duke of Edinburgh Hotel, The

	The Duke of Edinburgh Hotel is a landmark venue in the centre of Barrow-in-Furness. Rebuilt and reinvented over a twenty eight month period, the Duke is now a beautifully styled, boutique hotel. Offering 30 ensuite, contemporary rooms with double and twin beds, this hotel takes accommodation levels in Barrow to a new height. In early December 2008 a bespoke glass lift to all three floors of the hotel was unveiled and now allows guests to admire the Duke's famous Victorian staircase as they ascend and descend. Each room includes a designer bathroom, twin or super king size double beds, a flat screen digital television and luxury fittings. This is not a typical B&B establishment but a "contemporary inn" designed to offer exceptional comfort at a fair price. All tariffs include a full a la carte breakfast offering a choice of eggs, varieties of bacon and sausage - all our breakfasts are individually prepared and cooked to order. We accept all credit/debit cards including American Express. The Duke has free parking available for all guests in a car park located just off Rawlinson Street approximately 20 metres from the hotel - please pick up a "parking voucher" from reception when checking in. In addition to the 30 ensuite rooms, the hotel also features a bar & grill for superb cask ales, wines & spirits, a function suite for up to 200 people and a newly launched small restaurant, Bistro 1871.

	Ideally positioned on Abbey Road very close to the centre of Barrow and directly opposite the new Emlyn Hughes House building. The hotel is situated approximately 150 yards from Barrow train station. There are two car parks within 100 yards of the hotel, at the train station and on High Street. We expect to have designated parking within 50 yards of the hotel shortly.
