Old Crown Inn | BEAT THE CREDIT CRUNCH ! The Old Crown Inn provides quality, low cost accomodation right in the heart of the City Centre of Sheffield. The Inn is just a few minutes walk from the City Centres bars, nightclubs, theatres and restaurants. Just a 5 mins taxi ride from the main train and bus stations and just a few minutes walk from the tram and bus service, it makes any area of Sheffield accessable. The bar is open as follows: Mon-Thurs 8am-8pm, Fri 8am - 9pm, Sat 6pm - 12am, Sunday closed though rooms still available. Breakfast is available Mon-Fri. The Crown is £4.50 and The Half a Crown is £3.50. Both include a tea/coffe/juice. The Bed & Breakfast has 8 modern rooms (one en-suite) with tea and coffee making facilities. Two new bathrooms have been installed. The pub dates back to 1787 and is the last of 15 pubs which once lined this historic street. It has now had a recent complete and sympathetic renovation. By air:- Doncaster Sheffield Airport:- 20 Miles East Midlands Airport- 35 Miles Leeds Bradford Airport - 50 Miles By Rail:- Sheffield station is 10 mins walk from the Old Crown Inn. London - 2hrs 15mins Birmingham - 1hr 10 mins Manchester - 50 mins By Bus:- The central bus station is situated opposite the rail station and is 20 mins walk away. The centre of Sheffield is also easily accessable by the tram network and the nearest tram stop is the Cathedral which is 5 mins walk. Driving Directions fron North,South and West. Exit the M1 at junction 33 signposted Sheffield City Centre. Follow the Sheffield Parkway to the City Centre. Please be aware of speed cameras on this road. Continue to the roundabout then take the 4th exit (Ponds Forge willbe on left hand corner) Go up hill follow road as it forks to left and continue on this road. At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit. At next roundabout take 2nd exit (Nylon bar will be in front of you) Get in right hand lane (fire station will be on right) At lights turn right At lights go striaght ahead At next lights also go straight ahead Go down hill and at lights get into right hand lane Turn right At next roundabout take first exit (BMW dealership on left hand corner) Scotland street is 3rd on left after 2nd pedestrian crossing From City Centre. Locate signs for A57, follow road signs for the M1 down Broad Lane go through roundabout (BMW garage on left), Continue down the hill about 150 yards and take a left turn onto Scotland Street just before West Bar police Station. We are 100 yards up on the left. |
