Gwesty Minffordd Hotel | The Minffordd Hotel in Talyllyn valley, Mid Wales is set in probably the most breathtaking scenery in Britain and is situated at the base of the Cader Idris with the summit being 1 1/2 miles NW of the hotel. The original parts of the building are over 400 years old so as you might expect the walls are very thick and there are plenty of originally features such as the original wood beams which can be seen throughout the building and our log fire which is a key feature during the winter months. We have 2 lounges available for guest to relax in at any time of the day maybe after dinner with a glass or two of your favourite drink from our extensively well stocked bar. Our restaurant seats a maximum of twenty people for dinner therefore reservations are essential to guarantee you a table especially at weekends. Breakfast is also served here with a selection of fresh fruit, cereals & fruit juices, full breakfasts are cooked freshly to order. .......................... We are ideally situated at the base of CADER IDRIS Mountain here in southern SNOWDONIA, and a vast majority of guests are walkers & stay with us due to our location & easy access to the MINFFORDD PATH which is 5 mins from our front door............................ We are also on the "mach loop" which is famous with plane spotters & photographers who also stay with us to view the low flying RAF aircraft that can be seen most days flying down the valley.................... Due to our scenic mountain location we are also favourite with landscapes & wildlife photographers who visit us to enjoy the fabulous scenery & wildlife. There are various golf courses ( Aberdovey, Harlech, Dolgellau, Machynlleth ) locally and fishing (coarse, game & sea) is also widely available locally........................ FURTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION.................... We do not issue front door keys, and the front door is locked at 12 midnight................Pets are only allowed in 2 downstairs bedrooms rooms, a twin and a double, if these are taken then pets will not be permitted in any other bedroom, please check before making the reservation with us to avoid any disappointments. .......................Dinner is served between 6 - 9pm each evening at £22,95 for 3 courses to include coffee, don't forget to make your table reservation if required...................... |  | we are situated in the very scenic steep sided talyllyn valley at the base of Cader Idris in the snowdonia National Park 5 mins walk from the Minffordd Path on the A487 between Dolgellau and Machynlleth at the junction with the B4405 which leads to Tywyn. Manchester Is Approximately 104 miles - 2 1/2 hours Drive Birmingham is Approximately 106 miles - 2 3/4 hours Drive Cardiff Is Approximately 140 miles - 3 1/2 hours Drive The nearest train station is Machynlleth were there are good bus routes and taxis available although we are about 9 miles away |
