Rondo Guest House, The | The Rondo is situated in the market town of Dumfries in South West Scotland. Positioned only a forty minute drive from England, Dumfries is an area which is remowned for its beautiful unspoilt beaches and verdant countryside. Steeped in history it is surrounded by castles and abbeys and associated with Rabbie Burns, John Paul Jones and Thomas Carlyle. For those of a more active persuasion there are a number of good golf courses, some excellent lochs and rivers for fishing to say nothing of the number of top cycle tracks. Truly something for everyone. The Guest House is in the middle of Dumfries which gives it an excellent central location and is handy for a number of fine restaurants, bars and coffee shops. |  | Car from England - travelling from England take the M6 motorway north and pass Carlisle. Turn off at Gretna Green onto the A75 and drive to Dumfries. When you reach the town you follow the signposts for the town centre. You will come to a roundabout which has a Morrisons on yout right and Fire Station on your left. Take the road that runs past the Fire Station. On your right you will see a corner house which has been painted yellow, this is Queen Street so you should turn right into it. The Rondo is situated at the top on the left opposite a bistro called Ma-Donnas. If you need any help please ring us and we'll be happy to direct you further or meet you.By Car from Scotland - Take the A74 south and turn off at Lockerbie. Take the A709 to Dumfries. When you enter the town again follow the signs for the town centre. You will enter a one way system and pass a Cinema on your left. The Rondo is in the second street on your left after the cinema. By Train - Ring us when you get here and we'll come and collect you at no extra cost. |
