Of course many flowers are available all year round and out of season. It's worth trying to stick to this seasons flowers as they are often fresher and offer better value for money. Your local florist should be able to advise you of what's in season. Remember you can also collect the beautiful foliage that grows in abundance in winter and add it to your display. This will add volume and colour to give your arrangement a real seasonal look.

To prolong the life of your flowers try to avoid placing them in drafts or close to central heating radiators remembering to change the water at regular intervals.
