The music festival staged its first edition in 2008, which was a grand success and drew huge crowds. The aim was to inspire and promote up-and-coming northwest bands and provide a great family outing in a super-charged atmosphere of great live music. Whatfest was conceptualised by Simon Bennet and his group of friends. The fete has so far featured China Crisis, Sam Isaac, Dirty Avenues, The Blue Tones and Alexis Blue, to name a few.
You can pitch in a tent in the specified camping area and absorb the vibrant ambience to its fullest, all night long. Music lovers, while soaking in the rhythmic beats, can indulge in their choice of food and drinks at bars serving alcoholic, organic and non-alcoholic refreshments. 'Green' revellers can also savour organic produce including beef burgers, lamb, fruit and vegetables at Simon's shop. Simon, besides being a music buff, is an organic farmer.
