| Description | Bilston Craft Gallery
Discover the links between eighteenth century local industry and contemporary craft.
Craftsense features over one hundred pieces of the world renowned Bilston enamels, many of which have received conservation and restoration work from Jackfield Conservation Studios, to preserve our local heritage.
Also on display are pieces of historical glass, leather, metal and ceramics from regional collections, celebrating the craft heritage of the Black Country and West Midlands region.
Alongside these objects are pieces by some of the UK's best contemporary craft makers, including innovative leather work by Helen Amy Murray and dramatically coloured blown glass by Stuart Ackroyd.
Everything on open display can be carefully touched to discover more about the materials used.
Craftsense opened with a new look on 27 July 2009, featuring brand new contemporary craft pieces and better access to information. |
