Summer Opening of Parliament
A tour to the Parliament can be arranged by British citizens and overseas visitors during the summer recess when the Parliament does not sit, by purchasing tickets. The tour originates from Victoria Tower and proceeds through the Robing Room, Royal Gallery, Chambers of the House of Lords and House of Commons, Central Lobby, St Stephen's Chapel and Westminster Hall.
The Palace of Westminster, a royal palace and former residence of kings, is home to both the houses of Parliament namely the House of Lords and the House of Commons. The elaborate interiors and the exterior architecture of the building are a sight to observe. Blue Badge qualified guides operate language tours that are available in French, German, Spanish and Italian.
UK residents can watch the parliamentary session and attend the Question Time and Prime Minister's Questions in the House of Commons by getting tickets from a Member of the House of Lords or an MP.
