Paradise Gardens Festival
The Paradise Gardens Festival was originally conceived as the culminating event of Fusion East, a three year arts and cultural programme in the London Boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Newham. The first such event was held in 2006 at Victoria Park. The Paradise Gardens Festival is the result of a collaboration between Tower Hamlets Council, who manage the park, and Remarkable Productions. Most of the performances at the festival are free of charge for all. Victoria Park is metamorphosed into a wonderful microcosm that includes entertainment events, fun activities and scintillating shows.

The Soothsayers, The Destroyers, the Solution Sound System and Sean Rowley's Guilty Pleasures featured as 'Viccy' Park captivated the visitors at the 2009 festival. In the past the Paradise Gardens festival has featured spectacular art performances by Les Commandos Percu from France and London's very own Bassline Circus. In 2006, instillation artists Illumina mesmerised the audiences with an out of this world experience. Visitors can expect to be thrilled in equal measure by avante garde dance group The Silver Tree, who specialise in presenting a fusion of dance and circus.
If visitors have still not had their fill then there's Carter's Steam Fair that adds a classic 'carnival' touch to the paradise atmosphere with their own paraphernalia of vintage stalls and rides. Children have an abundance of fun activities to choose from, including making their own toys at village fete workshops, interacting with puppets, and indulging in creative fun in the play garden.
Don't miss out on the chance to try out an assortment of food available at stalls dishing out gastronomic delights from the South Asia region to the Caribbean.
