5600314RHS Autumn Garden Show
DateTuesday 24th October 2017 to Thursday 26th October 2017
DescriptionThe event will immerse visitors in a harvest haven that will celebrate the warming shades, tastes and textures to show how keen gardeners can make the most of the season. Providing passionate city gardeners and beginners alike with a wealth of inspiration to create their own autumnal oasis, the show will see stunning floral installations from the RHS Floral Artist in Residence 2017, Electric Daisy Flower Farm. Plus, there will be a celebration of seedheads and other enchanting features from gold-medal winning designer Paul-Hervey Brookes, and a 'remix' of the Path of Least Resistance Freeform installation that appeared at the first RHS Chatsworth earlier this year. With the array of heart-warming ingredients this time of year brings, foodies can indulge in an indoor foraging forest installation full of unusual edibles created by award-winning designer Jon Davies, while foraging tours will also tempt guests with a menu of autumnal fare. The RHS will be welcoming the team behind the acclaimed Chelsea restaurant, Rabbit with talented brothers, Richard, Oliver and Gregory Gladwin, who will be serving their signature British 'wild food' with a focus on sustainability as well as a selection of specially-created foraged cocktails. Other highlights will see inspiring talks from renowned horticulturists and gardening presenters Anne Swithinbank who will be discussing 'Foraging from the Garden' and Nick Bailey on 'Unusual Edibles in the City'. Visitors can also get their hands dirty with seasonally-focused workshops - from floral design, to autumn leaf-crafting and micro-green sowing - plus plenty of advice and everything you need to know about this season's planting from the experts. The show will be packed with an abundance of shopping opportunities, with nurseries and exhibitors hand-picked to offer seasonally-inspired collections of plants, bulbs and the new must-have home and garden accessories. Rare and unusual plants will be available from growers such as The Botanic Nursery, Plantbase and Harperley Hall Farm Nurseries, while new floral stands include Calamazag Nursery and Strictly Daylilies. A ticketed late event will also take place on 24 October to offer a sneak preview of the show.
