A26 goes south and meets the ferry port Newhaven. A21, M25 and A20 connect the town to London which is in the north. A21 also connects to Hastings in the Southwest. To Tonbridge's northeast is Gillingham. The roads A26 and A228 connect the two towns. The A228 crosses the motorway M20 at junction 4. The link to its western towns is the motorway M25.
