Transport
St. Helens is connected to Liverpool by A58 in the west and to Bolton in the east. A570 connects to M58 in the north. M6 which runs along the eastside of the city connects to Warrington in the south. M62 is in the south which links to Liverpool in the west and Salford in the east.

The nearest ferry port is Liverpool Ferry Port which has regular crossings to Dublin ( P&O Irish Sea Ferries), Douglas( Steam Packet) and Belfast (Norfolkline Irish Sea).
