Transport
The borough can be reached by road from the A1 or M1 which both run close to Leeds in West Yorkshire. The A64 from Leeds then connects directly to Scarborough. There are good road links from the A64 to all parts of the Borough, like the A171 Scarborough to Whitby road and the A165 Scarborough to Filey road. A171 is to the west of Scarborough which connects to Cloughton further north. A171 divides into two roads in the south namely the A170 and A64.
There are a number of bus operators providing services to and around the coastal towns and villages. The Yorkshire Coastliner runs hourly service to York and Leeds. National Express run a budget coach once a day from London. East Yorkshire Motor Services (EYMS) operate hourly buses to Bridlington and Hull. Arriva links the city with Middlesborough, Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay. Hunts Coaches link Skegness, via Bridlington.
The Leeds Bradford International Airport is about 70 miles from the Borough. Teeside Airport is about 56 miles and Humberside Airport is about 56 miles, while Newcastle International Airport is about 100 miles away from the city.
