Nelson Directions

M56 bypasses the town from its north-west, connecting to Burnley towards south and Preston towards west. A56 runs south-west to the M65 at Brierfield and northeast to Colne and beyond. A682 heads north into the Yorkshire Dales and south to Burnley.

The main local bus operators are Burnley & Pendle and Northern Blue. Few other bus and coach operators are Tyrer Tours (linking Burnley and Colne), National Express and Pennine Motor Services.

Leeds/Bradford International Airport is about 31 miles from the town, via A6068 and A65.
