The town has congestion-free grid road network. The M1 motorway runs through the east of the town and the A5 runs through the west of the town. Other main roads are the A509 and A421.

Major bus operator in the town is MK Metro, which has been taken over by Arriva. It's competitor are Stagecoach and National Express. Also, the Park & Ride Coachway service, which links the Coachway to the shopping centre and railway station, will be closed until April 2008 for restoration.

The nearest airports are Birmingham International (50 minutes rail journey), Gatwick (3hours of direct bus service) and Heathrow (2 hours of direct bus service).
