M1 and A1 give Leighton Buzzard an easy access to London and Birmingham. A4012, going from the town, meets A421 towards Bedford city to the north-east. The A505 Southern Bypass links the town to the nearby A5.

Arriva the Shires and Essex and Grant Palmer run the local bus services. Some other bus and coach operators are Marshalls Coaches, Red Kite, United Counties of Northampton, Z & S International and Redline. Buzzer Buses (Dial a Ride) provides an on-demand community transport service for eligible members.

London Luton Airport is about 15 miles to the east of Leighton Buzzard.
