Bedford Directions

Bedford lies on the South-North A6 trunk road which connects Luton with Carlisle, and two of the most important north-south routes in Great Britain, the A1 and the M1 motorway pass a few miles to the east and west respectively.

The major bus routes are run by Stagecoach United Counties. Barfordian Coaches operate the Bedford-Stewartby route. Cedar Coaches operate the routes in the North of the town. Other bus operators include Expresslines, Flittabus, Arriva The Shires, MK Metro Bus Service, National Coach Services, Whitbread Wanderbus and Villager Community Minibus (also called Sharnbrook).

The Luton Airport is about 28.1 miles south from the town, whereas the Stansted Airport is about 56.4 miles in the south-east of the town.
