	A590 is the major road for the port town linking it to the far north-east Cumbria, namely Ulverston, the Lake District and the M6. Junction36 of A595 to the North of Barrow connects the town to Whitehaven and Carlisle.
	Most of the bus routes are operated by Stagecoach North West, namely Cumberland of Whitehaven and Ribble of Preston.
