Heron Lodge is set in a lovely peaceful, rural location on the edge of Mabie Forest - a tranquil and peaceful location surrounded by beautiful countryside, with breath taking views of surrounding countryside and Mabie Forest.
This luxury 2 Bedroomed lodge is Privately Owned and can accommodate 4 guests in comfort with all modern amenities for a great self catering holiday break. Heron Lodge is very well equipped and pride ourselves in presenting this property in immaculate order to enable our guests to have a very comfortable stay all year around. Set in the former grounds of Cairnyard House on an uncommercial site. Located 5 miles from Dumfries town centre off the A711 (Dumfries and Dalbeattie Road) and 1 mile before Beeswing village and Loch Arthur Organic Farm Shop and Restaurant.
Take a relaxing week's break - either to take in the surrounding countryside and area or explore out and about around historical places of interest or take time out to peruse your hobbies or interests like Mountain Biking, Fishing, Bird watching, Golf, Walking or Horse Riding.
An ideal base for those that like to enjoy country walks, a great choice of forestry and costal routes to explore. Numerous Golf courses, close by, 7 Stanes Mountain Bike Area, Access on site to purple route trail to Mabie Forest or a short drive to access Mabie forest carpark and Bike hire and the numerous bike trails. Dalbeattie Forest, 7 Stanes mountain bike trails- 5 minute drive away and Ae forest a short drive through Dumfries.
Dumfries market town with numerous shops, supermarkets, local places of interest to visit and home to Robert Burns Trail, Camera Obscure, Solway Coastal Driving Route is located 5 miles from Heron Lodge, and 1 mile before Beeswing Village with Loch Arthur Organic Farm Shop for daily fresh local organic produce and world famous Award Winning Loch Arthur Cheeses for sale. Towerwood Floodlit Golfing Range is located 3 miles from lodge. along with Mabie Forest for mountain bike trails which can also be accessed via farm track from site for the more experienced on the purple route or a short car ride to the forest car park to pick up other trails from beginners to more adventurous trails- there is also a bike hire shop. Dalbeattie is located 6 miles away with numerous small local shops, 7 Stanes Mountain bike trails and the town woods for forestry walk trails and great for walking the dog also. Heron Lodge makes a great self catering base for families and couples alike. Close to beaches, forestry walks and historic places of interest for great days out. Glasgow can be reached in 1hour 30 minutes and Edinburgh in under 2 hours two great cities in which to explore for a full day out. Gretna Green and Gretna Gateway Outlet Shopping Village 20mins.
