Cwellyn - Gwynfryn Farm
Gwynfryn Farm is a family run organic dairy farm that houses a number of holiday properties created from the original farm buildings that date back to 1821.
Cwellyn, all the properties on the farm are named after lakes in Snowdonia, is a charming first floor apartment with an outside stone staircase.
Overlooking the quadrangle of cottages and with views across Snowdonia and the Rival mountains, Cwellyn has a cosy living/kitchen area with a colour TV, DVD player and CD player. The kitchen is fitted with all modern conveniences including a dishwasher.
Cwellyn has two bedrooms, one double with a king size bed and another with triple single beds. There is also a full bathroom with a shower.
As well as the swimming pool, there is a fitness room, sauna and jacuzzi, LTA tennis court, a football pitch and inside play area for the under 5's. A large games room houses a pool table, table tennis, air hockey, table football and a 58" TV.
With so much to keep you occupied on the farm, it may be difficult to tear yourself away, but this area of Wales has some wonderful activities right on the doorstep.
Pwllheli is only 1.5 miles away and is the main town of the Lleyn Peninsular. It has a popular market on Wednesdays and Sundays in the main square. The town is full of character with its narrow streets which have many independent shops, boutiques, traditional pubs, cafes and restaurants, as well as award-winning fish and chips, traditional Welsh ice-cream and seaside rock.
The 50 miles of Hertiage coastline have been designated an Area of Outstanding National Beauty. Pwllheli's beaches are mainly south facing and have been awarded the prestigious European Blue Flag Award. Glan y Mor beach is sandy and sheltered near the marina. South beach is mainly shingle and pebble and stretches the length of the attractive promenade with a play area and skate park nearby.
Spend the day walking the many miles of coastal walks, watch seals basking on the rocks, visit Pwllheli's Marina, play golf at one of the many courses close by, spend the day walking in Snowdonia National Park or visit the iron-age hill fort.
Portmadog is just 13 miles from Pwllheli and Caernafon is just 21 miles away. With its charming houses and breathtaking views Portmeirion is about a 30 minute drive from Gwynfryn Farm. Anglesey Sea Zoo is near by as is the Llandudno Copper Mines, both great days out for all ages.
Having spent a busy day exploring all that this charming part of Wales has to offer, return home to Gwynfryn Farm knowing that comfort and peace and quiet await you.
