Derwent

Derwent,Cockermouth Information
"Derwent" is a well maintained, spacious, ground floor Mews apartment with a Scandinavian feel. There is a shared courtyard equipped for outdoor dining.

This ground floor apartment, with just one small step in to the apartment, has a spacious, combined lounge and dining area with a sofa and two armchairs, TV, music centre and WiFi access. Beneath the coffee table, we've provided map books, and information about local attractions. The dining area is capable of seating six people. This room leads through a set of French doors to the shared courtyard at the rear of the property, equipped for outdoor dining, with a picnic table, designated parking space, and a communal hut for cycle storage.

The well-equipped kitchen includes an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer, and a washing/drying machine. The double bedroom provides a cosy night's sleep, and has spacious storage along with bedside tables either side with lamps. This room also has an en-suite shower room. The twin room has a single bedside table, with large storage and wardrobe just out of the door in the hallway. The family bathroom just down the hall is fully fitted.

Mockerkin, a tranquil village at the edge of the National Park, 2 miles from Loweswater, is an excellent setting for peaceful breaks and is the perfect location for visiting a variety of attractions within the Lake District. It is at the heart of many excellent and picturesque walking locations. Wasdale Head, Ennerdale and smaller walks suitable for children are plentiful in Loweswater and nearby towns. Cockermouth is 5 miles away and Keswick 15 miles away. The coast, 15 miles away, is easily accessible along a picturesque route.

Please note that there is no public transport servicing the village, neither is there a shop in the village. The nearest main line train station is at Penrith about 35 miles away; there are accessible taxis at the station. We are sorry, but no pets are allowed, and the apartment is also strictly non-smoking.

There are good mobile phone and internet connections. You will also find everyday basics such as toilet rolls, washing up liquid etc, a put-you-up bed, cleaning products and ironing equipment. There is an Information Folder provided which will give details of transport, places to go, things to do and good eating places.
