Ty Nain nestles in the centre of a row of 3 stone terraced cottages, in a quiet lane, on the edge of the village of Penrhyndeudraeth. Just above Penrhyn Station, on the world famous, narrow gauge, steam hauled Ffestiniog Railway, and in an elevated position, it has stunning views over the surrounding Snowdonia and Rhinog mountains and the Dwyryd Estuary, from the head of the Vale of Ffestinog to the coast at Harlech. Almost from the doorstep are wonderful walks through woodlands in the Snowdonia National Park, or down to the beaches of the estuary foreshore. The main part of the village is a few minutes walk away and boasts a selection of inns and shops.

All the major attractions of Snowdonia are within easy reach, on foot, by car or by public transport. In fact, there's no need to use the car at all during your stay! A regular local bus service to Porthmadog stops a few minutes walk from the cottage, plus several other services from the village to further afield along the coast and inland. The Cambrian Coast main line train (partly Rail Replacement bus at present-2014), from Pwllheli to Machynlleth (connections to Aberystwyth, Shrewsbury, and the Midlands) stops at the "Arriva" railway station in the village. We can also offer a reduced price weekly ticket for travel on the "Ffestiniog Railway", running past the house from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog and back - "Park and Ride" with a difference!!

The property offers 1 bedroom (double bed), with extensive views, and 1 single bedroom. The ground floor bathroom has an electric shower over the bath.

The modern fitted kitchen is well equipped, with a full size electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The separate lounge/dining room has an electric stove heater, and a television with DVD player, a video, and radio, and mountain views.

Outside, a small, south facing patio area with garden furniture also has mountain views, with adjacent parking for one car .

Gas central heating and hot water, and the first £20 of electricity usage, is included in the weekly rental price.

One small dog accepted (£20 per stay, payable direct to the owner).

A £50 Security Deposit (refundable in line with booking conditions) is required, again payable direct.

A complimentary light Welsh tea will await your arrival.
