Sea Pinks Cottage
Sea Pinks Cottage was built around 1860 and is a fine example of a traditional fisherman’s cottage built with Portland stone. The property has been refurbished to a high standard with the bedrooms offering views either towards Portland, Lyme Bay or Chesil Beach. Externally, the property boasts a secure walled garden, the ideal spot to relax and make use of the barbecue. Sea Pinks Cottage nestles at the bottom of a steep hill in the historic area called Mallams on the Isle of Portland. Within walking distance you will find a selection of shops, pubs, cafes and takeaways. Be sure to take a walk around Portland Marina, this location offers some of the finest small boat sailing waters in Northern Europe. This location was the official venue for the Olympic sailing events in 2012. Portland also boasts Chesil Beach, an impressive 18 mile long shingle beach. For a greater selection of amenities and attractions, the traditional seaside town of Weymouth can be reached within a 15 minute drive. Weymouth boasts a large expanse of golden sand, complete with Punch and Judy show and donkey rides in the summer. In Weymouth you will also find many shops, restaurants and cafes to enjoy as well as numerous attractions such as the Sea Life Park and Marine Sanctuary.
